Why don’t some stores appear?
The process that we’re using isn’t perfect, and sometimes certain stores won’t appear on the list. However, rest assured in knowing that we’re trying hard to make the check-in experience as effective as possible!
I’m in a store or very close to it, so why can’t I check in?
- If you've already checked in at that store today, you will need to wait until tomorrow to check in again.
- Sometimes your phone’s GPS can't pinpoint exactly where you are – depending on your network connection. Try stepping right outside the store and trying again.
- There’s a chance that a store isn’t in our system. Email us at feedback@causeworld.com if that’s the case
I’m in a Mall, so why don’t I see all of the stores?
We try to show only the stores that are closest to you in order to make the check in screen easy to navigate. As you walk around the mall, different stores will become available to check into.
Who are your sponsors?
Kraft and Citi are our current sponsors. Each karma earned is generously backed by them so that you can donate to the cause of your choice.
How does Causeworld work?
We've lined up some great sponsors that have pledged to back each karma a user earns in the application. You earn karmas by walking into a store or restaurant and checking in. No purchase is required to earn karmas. When you earn enough points you can donate them for charitable actions, from planting a tree to caring for an injured animal. Donations are carried out by our partner charities.
What does it mean to “check in”?
Checking into a store is like when you check into an event – you're simply letting us know you're at the location.
What stores can I check in to?
You can check into nearly every type of retail outlet and restaurant - so you can use it when you go grocery shopping, when you shop for clothes or get a quick bite to eat. Just walk into stores. No purchase necessary.
What items can I donate?
Check out the Causes page to see which charities we've partnered with! Each cause offers a different good deed you can donate.
How do I level up?
Keep checking into stores and donating! The more karmas you donate, the quicker you'll level up. Tap on your profile icon under the “Profile” tab in the app to see how many more karmas you need to level up.
How do I earn badges?
Badges are awarded for many different events. You can earn badges by repeating certain actions or by performing an action for the first time. Here's a hint for a cool badge – try inviting some friends to use the app. ;)
How do I share this app with a friend?
We encourage spreading the message through Facebook posts via Causeworld when you donate. You can also invite friends directly from the app under the “Options” tab. Word-of-mouth has also proven effective ;)
How do I turn off Facebook wall posts?
Click on the “Options” tab inside of the application and then tap on “Facebook Connect”. From there you can choose to disconnect from Facebook and stop the wall posts.
